Day 3, move from RV park one to destination two

Sunday we work up, walked the dogs, met some nice neighbors, some "snowbirds"- RV term for people who flee winter to warmer climates for the winter, often spending the winters in FL or AZ. Bill is getting very good at unhooking us from electric/water/sewer/cable. We spent time eating breakfast watching our neighbors unhook their much larger (huge) 5W - ok, another RV term, "fifth wheel" is a trailer which is pulled by a large pickup truck by hitching to the inside of the bed of the truck (becoming the fifth wheel). This was a much longer process, seemed like getting a jumbo jet ready for take off.
We were then on the road, headed toward the Poconos. We stopped at an outlet mall and Target...Bill drove in the parking lots like a pro. Our second stop is a beautiful spot in the mountains!

From the dogs:
"Obie and I like to take turns riding in between mom and dad in the space on the floor, sometimes I just crawl on top of Obie and try to sleep on top of him...Obie sometimes growls at me...why? We were left in the RV while mom and dad were in The store, but it was nice and cool inside because they can leave the AC and TV on! We have a big field and pond to explore here at our new site...."

Day Two...so this is what it is like

So, here it is after dinner of day two. After watching some TV last night (they have great wifi at the camp, so we began watching Madmen on Netflix). Teddy had quite an evening, he figured out he could howl! The dogs in the camp started a sort of barking chain last night and all of a sudden a deep guttural howl started out of the pup...I think it even startled Teddy..."I didn't know I could do that!" The boys were exhausted and just enjoyed laying around getting belly rubs. Sleeping was fine for the boys, mom and dad had a little trouble, small bed, a little claustrophobic. Boys woke up around 6:15am and mom made a great breakfast on the stove....we went for a great walk. Then we all jumped into the RV for a daytime adventure. We went to a town called Jim Thorpe and to the Lehigh River Gorge...beautiful day. oh and if this blog has a lot of typing errors, sorry, mom forgot to pack her laptop power cord and is attempting to blog on her iPad and it is way different!

Day One...we made it!

Ok, so the day started out kind of frazzled...Mom and Dad were running around packing stuff up, we were a little stressed ourselves...what was going on! Then we were shoved in the back of the SUV with a ton of stuff all around us...where were we going???

Yes, the day started out slightly stressful...but we were packed and on our way to pick up the RV only an hour late. It took us about 1.5 hr to get to the dealer. After about an hour of showing us what to do...what hookup is for what, generator this, propane tank for that...we were on the road by 1:30. We took a couple of detours, one road closure, and even up in the mountains and crossed over the Appalachian trail! Beautiful day, Bill did a great job driving our "rig" and the boys snoozed in the back in the dinette turned Corgi playpen (bed)

Here are photos of the boys and the site...day one..

Packing Day...TOMORROW THE JOURNEY BEGINS

So...what do you pack for a week of "camping" in an RV? Seems like enough stuff to be  moving to a small apartment...everything from linens, towels, pots, pans, food, dog stuff, people stuff, more dog stuff...oh yeah, toilet paper, flash light...OH, BROWNIES AND WINE TOO! I know we have probably forgotten a bunch of stuff. But hey, there will always be some sort of store en route, I think that each RV park has some sort of "Camp Store".

So tomorrow we pack up and pick up our "Chalet". We will post pictures...tomorrow!

Sweet dream corgis (oh yes, they went to the groomer today, can't have dirty corgis on board!)

Heard from Teddy today:
"Mama, I didn't like have a bath today, and they were fussin' with my feets...and what is that new harness thing you keep strapping and adjusting around my tummy...where iz we goin? Obie wants to ride shotgun!

Obie and Teddy prepare to hit the road and start a blog.

OK, so Obie and Teddy have decided that they want to hit the road. They are adventurous pups who are tired of being left behind when mom and dad go on vacation. So...the whole clan is going to try RVing. Yes, two humans and two canines in a traveling motorhome. Our first adventure will start this Friday when we pick up our rental RV home away from home for a week. We will be renting a 24 foot Class C Winnebago Chalet (yes we will learn all the RV lingo, class A, B, C, what a Toad is, black, gray and white water, we will blog about it all). Our rental has a bed, bathroom and shower, dinette, small kitchen and all the amenities in 24 feet! We will be driving to the Poconos and then into NY, stopping at 3 RV(and yes Bill picked ones that have WIFI) campsites along the way. This is a chance to get our feet wet as we jump into the unknown world of the motorhome. Obie and Teddy, along with our help(it is hard for the corgis to type) will be your guides.

Oh wait, Teddy says, Mom don't forget to pack treats!
And yes poop bags too!
